HALF EMPTY

It is not right nor fair,
That you live in despair.

Your glass is always half empty,
When your life is full of plenty.

Misery loves company,
but I am not it,
I have grown tired of your energy,
anticipating your next fit.

I give too much,
I am always your crutch.

Enabling a behavior,
That is not in your favor.

Self-preserving throughout each year,
Having a broken heart with no bloody tears.

Where did I go wrong to be treated this way,
It’s only a phase, those encouraging say.

I wonder if we will make it through to the end,
When will our tension turn to laughter becoming BEST FRIENDS!
